Face Lift
Aging is an inevitable process and its first symptoms begin to become visible on the face at as early as thirty something. As one gets older, it becomes more evident and all the tissues of the face are affected. Facial bones get thinner. The skin on the face starts to lose its elasticity, and wrinkles. With the influence of gravity, sagging arises on subcutaneous adipose tissue and soft tissue due to the mylosis. All the skin begins to be covered with wrinkles and sagging. Eventually, the look of the face becomes tired, aged and decrepit. With the face lift treatment, it is possible to recover such consequences of aging.
Face lift surgery does not stop aging process. The surgery gives the person a younger and more vivacious look than his/her age, but the aging process continues. The face anatomically splits into three different regions, and every region is approached separately in the surgical intervention for rejuvenation. Upper facial region includes forehead and eyebrows; FULL FACE LIFT or MID-FACE LIFT treatment is the intervention implemented to this region.
Mid-face, includes the cheek region; mid-face lift or cheek lift treatment is the intervention implemented to this region. Lower-face, includes the gill and the neck region; lower-face lift or neck lift treatment is the intervention implemented to this region. Surgical intervention may be implemented one by one or all together to each region.
Face lift surgery is performed under general anesthesia. Surgery takes averagely 3 to 6 hours depending on the intervention. During face lift treatment, the cut is performed entirely on the scalp. As for mid-face and lower-face lift treatment, the cuts are performed on the anatomic boundaries in front of and behind the ears. Hence the scar of the operation remains in the scalp and fold regions, there will never be any scar issues.
Swelling or bruising after the operation is a usual process, and contrary to popular belief, no serious pain is usually expected . In order to overcome the pain on the first days, simple painkillers are sufficient. During the first 24 to 48 hours, ice application on this region at intervals reduces the swelling significantly. Besides, with the help of some effective creams recommended, less bruising occurs as well as it also recovers faster. Since the drains will be removed anyway on the first day after the operation, 1-day hospital stay may be required. Most of the sutures are dissolvable, and they don't need to be removed. Some remaining sutures are removed 7 to 10 days later. The person may get back to work in one week.
Face lift surgery cannot stop aging process. The surgery gives the person a younger look than his/her age.
